webPDF supports time stamping in connection with electronic signatures.

Time stamps are provided by a "Timestamp Authority" (TSA). A timestamp is added—when the document is signed—via a URL and the "Timestamp Protocol." Time stamping is one of the requirements for a qualified electronic signature.

For webPDF to add a timestamp to its digital signature service for PDF documents, an appropriate URL must be specified in the configuration.

Time stamp services are provided by a number of providers. Most of these services are not free and are usually invoiced based on the number of timestamps created.

Certain providers offer free time stamping services on the web. Most of these free services are provided for demonstration purposes only. The following URLs provide free demo services:

Please take note of the terms of use set forth by these service providers. Usually, their services can only be used for trial purposes.
